DevTrack ("we", "us") is a job search tracker. This policy describes what data we collect and how we use it during our beta.
Information we collect
- Account data: name, email address, and authentication details when you sign up or sign in (including via Google or GitHub if enabled).
- Job search data: applications, statuses, notes, follow-up dates, and related information you enter in the app.
- Usage data: basic technical logs (e.g. IP address, browser type, timestamps) needed to operate and secure the service.
- Preferences: notification and appearance settings you choose in the app.
How we use your information
- Provide and maintain your account and dashboard.
- Send transactional emails (e.g. password reset, optional follow-up reminders).
- Improve reliability, security, and product experience.
- Process optional AI interview prep when you explicitly request it (see below).
AI interview prep & Google Gemini
When you generate AI interview prep, DevTrack sends that application's company name, role title, job description, and notes (if any) to Google Gemini. We only send this when you click Generate or Regenerate — not automatically.
Generated prep is stored on your application in DevTrack so you can view it again without re-sending data when nothing has changed. Google's handling of data sent to Gemini is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Do not include sensitive personal data in job descriptions or notes if you do not want it processed by Google.
Third-party services
We use trusted providers to run DevTrack, such as hosting, database, email (Resend), and optional OAuth (Google, GitHub) and AI (Google Gemini for interview prep). These providers process data only as needed to deliver the service.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account from Settings, which removes your profile and associated application data subject to our backup and legal retention requirements.
Security
We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and secure session handling. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us using the email below to make a request.
Changes
We may update this policy as DevTrack evolves. We will revise the "Last updated" date when we do.
